Aloha ‘Ohana,

I hope we find you well. To start, our mahalo for the opportunity to serve you and the island of Kauai. It has been a wonderful three years and we are proud of what God has accomplished through His grace and power.

As we look back, we are honored to have started a vibrant children and youth ministry, a wonderful gymnastics ministry, and established a junior high school on campus. I served as a police chaplain and was a board member of Pukas Church. I enjoyed creating a hui of several pastors, chaplains, and church leaders, who all prayed, strategized, and worked together for God's glory.

We hosted 20 large events that presented Jesus and His aloha. Witnessed scores of people come to salvation, and enjoyed men's & Women's Bible studies, Sunday Services, concerts, discipleship, baptisms, and fellowship. In my final month on the island, God blessed me with the opportunity to baptize over fifty people! The churches on Kaua’i have grown in Word and deed. Mahalo Lesu! A few months ago I was asked to pray for the missions and ministries at the Kauai Prayer Breakfast. This actually led us to be in prayer for our next ministry. With that shared, Gia and I felt it was time to return to serving Jesus Christ in Southern Mexico. We have always had a passion for under-resourced and overlooked people. We have transitioned over the past few months from Hanalei, back to our church plant (Ola De Gracias) in Cozumel. Beginning in September, we will move to Oaxaca, Mexico where we will be working and studying at a missionary language school. (Start date Sept 4) It's my desire to be fluent in Spanish. I want to teach and preach His Word without the need of a translator.

Concurrently with our studies, we will be leading volunteers onto the field in Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, and other areas of Southern Mexico. God placed us in Hawaii and Mexico all those years for a very important task, to connect people under Him. It is a scary undertaking, but God smiled and made it our passion. It came suddenly but that seems to be how God works in our lives. With this in mind, we created a non-profit, Nā Palena Kea. (Crossing Borders), dedicated to connecting, serving, and growing together

So, please pray for us. We knew we would return to the mission field one day, just not so quickly. There are a lot of logistics, one big one is having a daughter in College.
